recording with electric drumkit failinggg!!??
hi. well, im trying to record drums on my roland electric TD-6 kit. i plug a 3.5mm cord into the mic port of my laptop and the other end into a 6.5mm to 3.5mm adapter. the adapter then goes into my drumkit, to the output port. i press record in audacity and i begin to play. the first 10 seconds record fine, but soon later it begins to record less, and get fuzzy. then later it gets good again, and then it gets fuzzy again. can someone help??

There is probably a "Noise Reduction" and/or "Echo Cancellation" and/or "Automatic Gain Control" and/or other effects switched on in your Sound Cards mixer application. Have a look for a loudspeaker icon near the Time/Date on your Desktop to access the sound card mixer. Check through carefully for any hidden settings and turn off all effects.
The real problem is that PC laptop microphone inputs are really only designed for microphones with Skype and similar applications and are pretty rubbish for anything else. The recommendation would be to get a better sound card (which will probably be an external USB sound card). There are some reviews of a few sound cards here: http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=9477
If you end up buying a different sound card, please post a review of it - lots of people ask about sound cards and we can only tell them about the ones that we have used.
