Audacity Forum

I'm currently using Window Vista Basic / Business. I have Audacity , which i believed to be one of the latest.
However , whenever i opened Audacity and pressed the record button, there'll be a thin vertical line that travels from the right to the left really quickly.
however there's no horizontal zigzagged man that indicates that they're picking up sound.
then i press the play button , there's no sound.

and yes i spoke / scream into the mic.

Go to control panel click on sound then click on record make sure your microphone is not disabled. It should have a checkmark beside it if you have Vista
