Hello,
When I export my recording to a mp3 file or a wavfile or OGGfile I'm only able to listen to it in audacity, but when I open the mp3 file in windows media player or winamp I hear nothing.
I just recorded a fragment with a turntable which went alright. Furthermore I'm using Windows Vista at the moment, but I guess that will not be the problem. Please let me know how I can listen the recorded tracks in WMP or winamp or any other good mp3player

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: Export to MP3 / WAV fails
For maximum compatibility, export as 16 bit 44.1 kHz Microsoft PCM WAV. That's the standard format for CD and will play in any media player. A 16/44100 wav converted to mp3 should play in most media players, but if you still have problems, try switching to CBR instead of VBR for making your mp3.
(You will probably find Audacity 1.3.4 easier for selecting export formats as you can change them without the need to go into the preferences menu).
