Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Tracks Menu as indicated in the tutorial?

Post by FatStratCat » Sat Aug 21, 2010 11:56 pm

I was trying to render the tracks before mixing as the tutorial indicated, but I have no "tracks" menu on my version 1.2.6

All I need to do is drop the guitar volume on one track at a point in the song - how can I mixdown to stereo live?

Audacity doesn't do anything live except record and playback.

Audacity 1.3.12 has Tracks.

You are looking at the wrong manual. Here is the Audacity 1.2.x manual: http://audacityteam.org/manual-1.2/

Functionality in Audacity 1.2.6 is very limited compared to 1.3.12. I would highly recommend upgrading to Audacity 1.3.12. You can download it from here: http://audacityteam.org/download/beta_windows
The full Windows install version contains the latest 1.3.x manual. The 1.3.x manual is also available on-line here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... =Main_Page

An easy way to do that is with the Envelope Tool. http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... elope_Tool
