Hi,
I'm trying to export to FLAC.
In preferences, I changed Lossless Export Format to FLAC.
Yet, when I try to export from File Menu, "Export as FLAC", I get an error message: "Cannot export audio to save location".
Is there something I am doing wrong, or something else I need to download to make this work?
Would be a huge time saver from exporting as WAV and then converting to FLAC after the fact.
Audacity 1.2.6
Windows 7
Thanks for the help,
Parker

Re: Exporting to FLAC
Please see the Release Notes. Export to FLAC in 1.2.6 doesn't work on Windows. Please upgrade to 1.3.12 which is the recommended version for WIndows 7.

Re: Exporting to FLAC
thank you Gale.
Tangent question: I downloaded 1.3 and messed up the default toolbars somehow. I tried to restore them or configure them properly, but can't figure out how. I even uninstalled 1.3 and tried a fresh install, yet when I opened it, the toolbars were still like I had changed them to. Is there a way to restore to default or delete some preference file so that I can use it properly? Thanks.

Re: Exporting to FLAC
You need to reset your preferences (just re-installing does not do the reset). See this page friom the Wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audac ... o_defaults

Re: Exporting to FLAC
Initialising the 1.3 preferences in audacity.cfg after using Audacity 1.2 is probably a good move anyway, but if the toolbars get messed up again and that's the only problem, just click View > Toolbars > Reset Toolbars.
