Problems with pitch
I'm trying to join two music clips end-to-end. I've tried copying the second one and pasting it to the end of the first, but the resulting pitch is off. What am I doing wrong here?
Re: Problems with pitch
Uh...I'm not sure what that has to do with anything. I'm trying to make it cut from one to the other, but the second piece is coming out too low-pitched. How would cross-fading help solve that?

Re: Problems with pitch
Did they start out the same key? You know you can get serious Twilight Zone problems by trying to edit with two audio clips that are similar songs but different audio standards? If Audacity doesn't know how to act, it might also change the speed of the performance. Did the second clip import with the same number of seconds duration?

Re: Problems with pitch
The second selection does seem to have stretched from 14.63 to 15.92 seconds. And the bottom-left part of the window does say "Project rate: 44100" on the first clip and "Project rate: 48000" on the second.
And no, they're not similar songs. Though I'm pretty sure they are both in MP3 format.
Okay, I get the effect-of-sample-rate-on-speed-and-pitch thing. Problem now understood. So how do I make them compatible?

Re: Problems with pitch
Problem solved, file assembled and converted to MP3. Thank you both!
