Ive been trying to insert intro music into my podcast, be when i import the .mp3, it mixes with the prerecorder audio, instead of after it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I assume that when you import the mp3 music Audacity creates it in a second trak starting at the same time as your recorded podcast?

If so, then all you need to do is:
1) select the podcast trak (click in its track control box at the left end of the track)
2) click on the Time Shift tool (the icon with a short black horizantal line with an arrowhead at each end)
3) move the podcast track to the end of the music track (you may prefere a bit of overlap with fade-out applied to the music?)
4) re-select the normal cursor (the selection tool - the icon looks like a capital I, or girder section)
5) test the result
6) Export to WAV or MP3 - the expport will mix & render the two tracks.

No, it lays the music in the same track over the preexisting audio. I would also like to have audio in front the the music as well.

How do you do that? You are using Audacity 1.2.6 on Windows(XP)?

If you dow what my above workflow suggests and shift only the podcast track forward in time (do this by clicking and dragging with the time-shift tool), leaving the music track where it is - then it will play the music track first and then the podcast. I've just tested this on 1.2 and it works for me ....
