my computers recording the wrong recorder

i have windows TOUCHSMART hp. audicity is recording the noise off the camera from my computer but i want it to connect to the usb extention that leads to my guitar? would anyone know how to change that? I bought a guitar/usb interface that shows up on my computer as file.. is there anyway to change this?

Click Edit > Preferences: Audio I/O and choose the USB interface as the "Recording Device". If the interface lets you plug headphones in to monitor the sound, set the "Playback Device" to the interface as well. Otherwise set the playback device to your inbuilt sound device. See
