Could you describe the four sections? Was there a part where he talked from the right because I didn't hear it? Maybe the reason that I never have any trouble is because my computer doesn't use external speakers and the internal speaker on the tower is only playing out of the left output. Did you receive the emailed clip? Was is as bad as the downloaded version?

Re: Trouble Uploading Recordings Online
Both clips have precisely the same damage. So I'm 100% certain you are sending the clips up with the problem baked in. That clears the Box company.
How did listening to that stereo test file (LRMono...) go?
I don't understand how you can not hear the damage. Before you export the show, does your timeline look something like this...
The top trace is your voice coming and going as you speak. The bottom trace is the trash.

Re: Trouble Uploading Recordings Online
So Step One: Your speakers or monitoring are damaged. The sound clip is in four segments. Left Only, Right Only, Both, Intentionally Damaged Stereo.
It's one of my better voice performances. I had to lie down for a while afterward.
Plug stereo headphones (or iPod earbuds) into your computer and see if you can listen to all four segments of the test.
Then, way down here on the bottom, we need to figure out what the heck is damaging your show.

Re: Trouble Uploading Recordings Online
I think that I have discovered the source of my error. Before exporting the files I used the normalizing feature which I thought would clean up the audio. But instead it was taking my mono track and adding junk in the stereo. I don't know how it worked out last year, but it could be that the person that we sent it to to upload them was able to clean them up before uploading them. Is it possible that I could re-export the files only including the audio from the left channel?

Very easy to do in Audacity 1.3.12 (which you are now using?)stvnericson wrote:Is it possible that I could re-export the files only including the audio from the left channel?
In Audacity 1.3.12, click on the track name and from the drop down menu select "Split to Mono".
Delete the unwanted (noise) track by clicking on the [X] in the left corner of the track.
Export the remaining track.
