Cannot Record from Windows Media Player on Vista OS

Hello,
I have a new Dell laptop running Vista and I am unable to record audio in Audacity (v. 1.2.6) as it plays in my Windows Media Player. I have found the "Preferences" section under the Edit tab and tried every available input device, as well as making sure they are enabled and working on my Control Panel. Has anyone else seen this issue, or found a solution to it?
