How do you install VST plugins?

I've downloaded some Kjaerhus VST plug-in effects, but when I open Audacity, I don't see them on the "Effects" list.
I can see the plug-ins in the Audacity plug-ins folder, but I don't see them appearing in Audacity itself.
What is the process for installing VST plug-ins?

You probably just need to restart Audacity as explained on this
Wiki page.

Nope, that didn't work.

Read the Wiki
VST Plug-ins page again. Have you installed the
VST Enabler?
Where are you looking? The plug-ins should be in the Effect menu underneath the divider.
Or use Beta 1.3.12 which doesn't need the VST Enabler.

Okay, I figured this out.
Turns out I needed to go to Preferences and check "Rescan VST effects next time Audacity is started".
