input volume slider pegs to zero

I replaced an old Ion turntable with a new one -- same model. Everything should be just the same...but the volume of the input is low. There is an input volume slider on Audacity -- a little icon of a microphone -- and the slider bumps down to the left, to zero, no matter what I do with it. How do I tell Audacity to turn up the volume on the input?

Love the Ion turntable! (Mine is the first review of it on Amazon!)

Thanks!

Some ION turntables have a gain control (volume knob) to control the level of the output signal. The one that i used to have did, but is was in an inconvenient and non-obvious place - located underneath at the back where the cables exit the device.

waxcylinder: hoykawow! That worked! You're my hero!

(And, wow, what a nasty place to hide the gain knob!)

Thank you very much! And hooray for both Audacity and Ion!

Very best wishes from old California,
