No Sound Playing from Exported MP3

Hey,
When I record some of my LP's the recording plays through Audacity fine but when I export it as a MP3 there is absolutely no sound. Can anyone tell me why this is?

You used the wrong words. The music has to not be playing through Audacity, but into Audacity. Does your screen have bouncing red recording meters and blue waveforms like this...

The window sizes may be different.

The way Windows works, it's possible to hear the show and not record anything, and record a perfect show and not hear a thing. The two are separate services.
