I am getting the 'Error when opening sound device' error when I try to record and its effecting my whole computer. When the error continues to pop up I can't open the volume control or play stepmania. I haven't found any other things that have been affected because of it. The odd thing about the error is that it comes and goes, this is the second time it has done it. I have no idea what to do but to 'wait it out' but I don't want it happening again.
Can anyone help me out?
I don't know if this has been talked about so sorry if this is a repeat from someone else.

When I hit the record button the error pops up, also I can open files in audacity, WMP and iTunes but can't play them.
