I'm getting frustrated. Everything seems to be recording good and then all of a sudden a loud scratchy noise comes on and I stop the turntable but the noise continues until I stop the software. I then have to start the recording process over again. Does anyone know how I can prevent this from happening?

As goofy as this may sound, try minimizing the screen after hitting the record button. Drawing the waveform in real time while recording can cause random noise with some systems.

The Numark TTUSB is a re-badged ION turntable, and they are notorious for USB problems.
The only reliable solution we have seen on this forum is to ignore the USB interface and plug the analogue out from the turntable into a phono pre-amp, then out from the phono pre-amp into a "Line-in" socket on your sound card.

Unfortunately this is not an option on many laptop computers as they often only have a microphone input and not a Line-in.

The USB interfaces on these devices seem to be very borderline between working perfectly, and not working at all. Sometimes the problem can be resolved by using a different USB port on your computer, or using a different computer, but if neither of these options work, then the analogue route is the only remaining option.

(Avoid using any other USB devices at the same time as the turntable, and do not use a USB hub.)
