I have had Audacity for quite a while but am only just starting to use the program's features really for the first time. I have read the tutorials and scoured the internet but cannot find the answer - I thought it was simpler than this!
I am best man at a wedding and the bride and groom wants the Macarena in between their first dance track with a scratchin effect cutting it in!!!! I said leave it to me thinking Audacity would do it for me! I have 3 MP3 tracks in the timeline, (1) the first dance track, (2) Kris Kross' Jump and finally (3) Los Del Rio's Macarena. I moved them into 1 long track but, when I put the cursor where I want the song to be interupted and pause the playing, it does not give me the option of selecting Cut or Split. I read somewhere about clicking Select > Cursor to End but this made no difference. If I left click and hold to drag a highlighted portion I still cannot select it.
Am I missing something. I have followed various examples in the tutorials and these options just won't appear at all!!!!!
Why can't I split or cut a track?

Re: Why can't I split or cut a track?
It seems it might have been because I was in pause however I am sure it still did it when I had fully stopped it. Working at the moment!

That would certainly cause that problem. You must be in "Stop" mode to do most things (not Play, Record or Pause).Garawa wrote:It seems it might have been because I was in pause
