Please do not suggest going to the Recording tab and right-clicking and selecting "Show Disabled Devices" because that does not work.

okay
i wont tell you that

not every pc and soundcard can do what you want
so get a real desktop pc with xp pro
or get an external audio interface box

i am guessing you have a win7 laptop
but you really didnt give us many clues to work with

if you dont have win7 laptop then tell us a bit more
so we dont have to guess

If the required options are not shown after you have selected "Show disabled devices" and "Show Disconnected Devices", then the options are not available for your current hardware with your current sound card drivers.

Updating the sound card drivers may provide additional functionality (no guarantees - some manufacturers just do not provide this feature for Windows 7).

If that fails to provide the required functionality, then you will need to resort to one of the workarounds such as:
Using virtual sound card software such as Total Recorder or Virtual Audio Cable,
Using a "loopback" connector (connect a cable from the "line out" to the "line in" of your sound card)
Upgrade your sound card to one that has Stereo Mix.
Use a browser Add-on to download audio from the web.
