Why is there no volume?

Yesterday I created a 13-track Audacity project, and it played back in its entirety, just fine.
Today, when I click the Play button, I get no sound from any of the tracks, except part of one.
What happened? Is there a way to get the sound back?

How did you create the project? Did you record stuff, or import stuff? If you imported, did you move or delete the original files that you imported? Note that by default Audacity does not "copy in" imported files, but relies on the original files remaining in their original locations.

Thanks for your reply, billw58.
I created this project by importing 13 individual audio files (MP3s, I think) into Audacity, and then, after mixing, bouncing the collective recording down into one audio file.
I actually did move the import files. Is this a problem? Why does Audacity need the files to remain in one place?
Can I fix the problem by moving everything into one folder? Or do I need to start over?

if you move or rename anything you will have problems
how can audacity know where something is if you move it?
no application i know of can do that
move it back
rename it
undo whatever you changed
and it shoudl work again
i would make a copy of anything i needed and put it all in one folder before using any program, then if you do something to the original nobody gets hurt because each program has its own file where it should be.

I didn't know this, about moving stuff around causing problems.
Now I know! Lesson learned.
Thanks for your help.
