Recording playback issues
Hi, I've been using my sound card from my abit motherboard and I noticed that when I record audio from the mic or from a program the playback sounds really muffled, sounds like a really cheap old voice recorder. It just started doing this after 6months when I installed a freeware program called camstudio. My audio recording capabilites have been limited I can't seem to figure out why it's doing this. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions on fixing this.

What benefit did you get by installing this program?

Re: Recording playback issues
Well it was a video capture software, and ever since I used it my sound recording quailty had been reduced significantly. So I was posting that someone could help me out here if there is a way to restore my recording to it's original condition.

Without knowing anything about camstudio, I'd guess it's probably thrown your OS's audio settings out of whack.
Check the Control Panel settings and make sure there's nothing crazy going on (I can't tell you exactly how to do that, I'm not sure what might have changed). You should also open up Audacity and go to the edit -> preferences -> audio i/o menu and make sure the right recording and playback sources are selected.
