Using a mass storage device.

Post by Uffer » Tue Mar 04, 2008 12:49 pm

Can anybody help me?
I only have a small amount of memory on my harddrive avaiable, but i do have a mass storage device connected all the time. Could anybody tell me how to use the storage device while i am running the program so i have a lot more recording time available. Then how to save it then to the storage device.

I appreciate any suggestions of help given.

Thanks for your time.

Uffer.

Go to Edit-Preferences-Directories and change the path for the Temporary Files Directory to a location on your mass storage device (I'm assuming that it's an external USB or Firewire hard drive). Audacity will then use this as the location for temporary files when recording.

When saving a project or exporting to WAV or MP3, simply navigate to an appropriate directory on the same device and save your files there.
