It was working fine.
I would record say for example, file1 and stop then record file2 and when i record file2, file1 still plays.
but now it doesnt do that....
What must I do in order for it to do that?

Re: How to play multiple audios simultaneously?!
In general, any time you press Stop at the end of a recording and then press Record, Audacity should start a new track underneath the old one. When played, both tracks will play at once unless you pressed Mute or Solo.
If you get to the end of a track and Stop, and then Press Append-Recording (Shift-R), then Audacity will put your second recording after the first all on one track.
Audacity will play old tracks while recording new ones in a Preference. You may discover that Audacity 1.2 isn't up to special purpose recordings like this on a modern computer.

For Audacity 1.2.6
"Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O tab"
Select "Play other tracks while recording new one".
For Audacity 1.3.12 this setting is conveniently available at the bottom of the "Transport" menu and is called "Overdub".

I would like to synchronise 2 audio inputs,
one coming from Asterisk playing file1
and second - Audacity playing file1
I am trying to develop sound quality diagnostic tools for Asterisk.
