Ok, so I just installed Audacity today because I wanted to mix two pieces of music together for a school project. The problem is, when I try to playback the music I just imported, it goes through the music wicked fast. I imported from iTunes if that makes a difference.

Audacity has a bad habit of opening files it doesn't actually support and then plays the nasty blip you're hearing. Audacity won't work with native iTunes files - save them as WAV or MP3 first and you'll be able to open them ok.
