Audacity Forum

I'm running Vista and Audacity 1.2.6, although i've used other versions and have this same problem.
When I check the record button, I get an error message:
"Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate."
I go to Edit>Preferences>Audio I/O
Under recording devices, I have no options. It's blank.

What can I do?

1) you should use Audacity 1.3.12 with Vista
2) You need to enable a recording input in the Windows Control Panel.
