Can Audacity handle this?

I downloaded a cd with 25 tracks. The problem is, each file begins with the last few seconds from the preceding song, and ends several seconds early. Of, course, these several seconds are carried over to the beginning of the next file, etc., etc.
Can I use Audacity to "reassemble" each track so that I get a complete song?

Yes, but it'll take some manual work. You'll be able to cut and paste between the two tracks, taking the few seconds of track 1 from the start of track 2 and adding it to the end of track 1 and so on. It may take a bit of effort to match up the join so that there's no audible glitch - if you're new to Audacity I would check out the tutorials to find your way around first.

Thank you. You're both right -- zooming way in is key. But also, reading the manual, I discovered a secret weapon:
Edit/FIND ZERO CROSSINGS. Does an amazing job.
