numeric labeling

Post by Hew » Fri Jun 11, 2010 1:49 am

I am able to record from vinyl and tape and export as a WAV in Audacity 1.2.6. What I don't understand is the step-by-step of how to label the tracks numerically from that point. I would appreciate an explanation from any member who is familiar with this procedure. Thanks.

more info needed - exactly where/what is the problem?

have you separated the tracks from the entire recording usign ctlrB yet? be sure to put one at the very beginning of the file but not the end

read the help files in doc and wiki --
look for the silence gaps between cuts on the lp/cassette
then line up your selection point and do ctrlB just before the start of the next cut - which will become a separate cd track later on

you can name it or number it or both
then when you export you can add more info in the box or not
for each track you identified

do all the boxes and then you can save the final tracks separately
so when you burn a cd they will play separately and you can select one to go to directly

you cn optionally silence out the preceeding part of the gap or leave it
your burning software may also allow diddlign the gap size
