I am having two problems.....
1.) I am recording old lectures from tapes with Audacity, and then exporting as an MP3, I have (I believe) accomplished this with one lecture, but at approx one hour into recording, the recording bar stops. I assume this means its no longer recording, so I simply stopped recording and exported the file as it stood rather than starting over.
2.) But after this has occurred, when I hit the record button in a completely new file, nothing happens, no movement or anything.
I am sure, at some level this is elementary, but if you have any suggestions regarding either of the above, I would be much obliged.
It is, after all, an excellent program.

Re: recording trouble
how much free unfragmented disk space do you have left ?
sounds like you filled the disk up which is why you cant start anything new until you clear out some unneeded stuff and defrag the drive
