no sound whilst recording

i cant hear as im recording but when i play it back its there, what the shiz can anyone help im probably being well diumb cheers
What are you trying to record? Try enabling "software playthrough" at Edit > Preferences: Audio I/O if you are recording tapes or records. If you are recording from microphone, go to the playback side of "Sounds" or similar in the Windows Control Panel and unmute the microphone.
