Recent Files & Genre choosing issue/suggestion

Hello!

First, let me say that I have had great use of this program for quite some years now, but since the beginning there have been some small problems: (Perhaps these issues are solved in the next version, if that's so then it's good):

Recent files in the menu File doesn't seem to be a problem at first, but after editing a number of files in Audacity a window menu automatically pops up when scrolling by - effectively clouding the menu below with other file names including the location (C:Documents and Settings"Owner"My DocumentsMy Music"File Name" etc). As you can see when Recent Files has by some means gathered some or more files this can prove quite annoying when trying to export to MP3 or Wav and every time have to go through the same procedure...

If I could somehow empty the Cache for Recent files or edit the program to not show this menu automatically would be a great improvement, but I have not found such an option either in the program map or on the different menus.
Perhaps a way to remove Recent Files altogether would be an idea as I don't use it.

2. When exporting to MP3 one is offered to choose ID3 tags for the particular file, however for some reason the Genre "Blues" is always custom and finding the genre I'm looking for in this maze is particularly frustrating, when genres are placed in what seems to be in no particular order or logic.
The Genres could be placed in a different kind of list which is more accessible, since there is so many genres chosen even if I don't find Ragtime, Bluegrass or some other earlier sorts which I hope will be included in some future.
(This question maybe is entitled to the Lame for Audacity page, but it seemed to be an Audac. style menu so...)

With that said, I can add that this is not big issues, but adjusting these would be a good thing for those who edits some or more audio files in a run or somesuch.

Best Regards,

(Edit: Moved the Reply (to Irish's post) to General Feedback for 1.3 version since that message was more of feedback to that version).

1. I can make the problem with the Recent File menu obscuring the rest of the File menu happen, on my machine, by using a window for Audacity that is less wide than the desktop, and moving it so that the left-hand side of the Audacity window is somewhere around the centre of the computer screen.
It works fine if the left-hand side of the Audacity window is moved either towards the left or the right of the screen, or if it is maximised.

2. I agree that the order of the choices for Genre in the ID3 tag editor in 1.2 appears to be illogical, but no further development will be done on 1.2 at this stage, so it will not change.
In 1.3, you can type in the genre in the ID3 tag editor, rather than selecting from a list. 1.3 also has many other improvements over 1.2, and is actually more stable than 1.2 on newer operating systems. I would recommend upgrading.

The list is stored in the [RecentFiles] entry in the Audacity settings file. That means the Windows Registry in Audacity 1.2. You should leave the Registry alone unless you know what you are doing.
