Hi, Seems my windows XP box does not recognise the lame files once downloaded. I have installed audacity, went to the preferences tab and pointed to the lame files only to have it not do anything at all. Please help

If you had posted here instead of the Mac forum, you would probably have found the answer. I've moved your post here.
Please read the "Windows" section of
this FAQ and download the correct "Lame_v3.98.2_for_Audacity_on_Windows.exe".
