Mp3 Export Problem

Post by EdibleTire » Fri May 28, 2010 1:14 am

Before, when i used to edit an song and save it, the saved song would have the same name as the original, but just recently, after i edit a song and save it, the title of the song would just come up as a series of dots (...................) instead of the original name. Im using zune software btw, so im not sure if it is a problem with that software specifically or Audacity, but Audacity has always worked before with the zune software. Has anyone else had this problem and knows how to fix it?

I presume that you mean that the exported file name is OK, but the track name in Zune is displayed as dots?

If that's the case, then my guess is that Zune is getting the name from the metatag data (id3 tags) rather than from the file name.
As with most other software, Audacity 1.2 does not support metatag data for WAV files. For other formats (such as MP3), click on "Project > Edit ID3 tags" and enter a "title" before you export.
