Sorry, not sure how else to describe what I need to do.
Basically I've recorded something which is very flat but every now and then it spikes, would be easier if I could print screen but I can't.
Imagine this.
vvvvvvvvv|vvvvvvvvvv|vvvvvv
I don't want to lose any of the audio but I need to bring the loudest bits down so I can then normalize and increase the volume as a whole.
How do I cut anything above a certain level?
Hope that makes sense?
Thanks
Cropping horizontally

Effect > Compressor. If this was a vocal recording by you, use a pop filter and move back a bit from the microphone.dw84uk wrote:Basically I've recorded something which is very flat but every now and then it spikes...
