Please Help!
I record live musical performances on a mini-disc and download directly to Audacity 1.2.6 on my Win XP Pro X64 OS. Everything works great! The program affords me a lot of flexibility to edit audience noise, silence, applause, etc. There are times when I am attempting to edit the music itself by cutting/copying/pasting. It works pretty well, although I run in to an issue with the clicks left behind after pasting (especially noticible on quieter tracks). I've tried the"click remover" effect option to no avail. Am I missing something?
Thank you!

When you're selecting your sections to cut/copy/paste, you are probably not selecting a zero crossing point, which will instantly change the wave form at your edit points, causing the click you hear.
You could zoom in enough to see exactly where the wav form crosses zero and make the start and stop points of the selection you're cutting/pasting etc. right at this zero crossing.
Or... to fix it post cut/edit, zoom in to your edit transitions to where you can see the jump (should be pretty obvious), edit the sample points directly to smooth it out.

a. Audacity in this version doesn't mark zero on the timeline making it a bear to find the proper point. Or I guess you could do it with a grease pencil on the screen.
b. The I (in point) and O (out point) keys are feature requests for a future version. Without those, you can't randomly zoom and retain your edit selection. Or if you do, you can't move it.

To all who responded:
Thank you very much! We did it...I was able to zoom in and find a common zero-crossing point between the stereo tracks, make the cut/copy/paste and go back and fix the sample points to eradicate the clicks and pops. Brilliant!
I learn something new every time I use Audacity...
