No drop down for line in etc

Just installed 1.2.6 on to my new Windows Vista premium pc. Everything seems OK except there is nothing in the input box. According to Windows my line in is working correctly and I have checked everything I know
I installed the Beta version and line in is recognised
I imagine there is some box somewhere in Vista that needs a tick, but where
Any suggestion welcome

It is OK. I have found it in preferences, I feel a bit of a **** now
