Hi:
I have been using Audacity for a while now and I have a lot of fun recording myself on the guitar and on my other instruments. I'm not sure why, but I can't seem to uninstall beta 1.3 on my computer ( i was going to install another version of Audacity). The problem is there seems to be a timing problem when I record multiple tracks. In other words the different tracks I record seem to be out-of-sync with one another. I tried a solution I found on the net to take care of the problem concerning bit rates but this didn't work either. I also was told that I should uninsall the existing version of Audacity and install a newer one.
I took my computer in to the service shop and they cleaned up my hard drive and put a bunch of extra ram in it(1gig). They didn't seem to know anything about Audacity or how to fix the problem, but all my functions seem to be working fine on my computer. I have tried installing another version of Audacity over the existing one but the problem with the timing is still there.
Can someone give me a little advice on what can be done?

Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.
The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Re: HELP! beta 1.3 won't uninstall
I's possibly because the uninstall hasn't removed your Audacity Preferences settings file audacity.cfg - in Windows this is stored in Documents and Settings<user name>Application DataAudacityaudacity.cfg
Try deleting this file and Audacity will return to its first bithday, as it was "shipped" from the "factory". Don't forget that you will have to reset stereo recording - default OOTB is mono.
