Records no sound

Hi, I recently switched from 3.5mm headphones to a usb headset. When I was using the 3.5mm I was able to record sound I could hear, but now when I try to record sounds it records nothing. How can I record with my usb headset?

Firstly, you must have the USB headset plugged in before launching Audacity.
Then, click on Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O:
In Recording Device you should see an option called USB Audio Codec or something similar. Select that.
In Playback Device, select USB Audio Codec to hear playback in your headset, or select your computer's sound card to hear playback on your computer speakers.
