Preserving Sound Envelope

When mixing a sound program with music and voice sound bites, I have to use the envelope tool often to quiet the music at certain points where the voices occur.
Question: If I decide to change the music used, is there a fast way to do this and somehow use the same sound envelope that I had created with the original music?

Thanks,

It depends on how much of a geek you are. :D
If you are a real geek, it's possible to transfer an envelope from one project to another by opening the .AUP file in a text editor and manually editing it.
If you're not a geek, or only semi-geek, then you could look at using the "Auto Duck" effect http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... =Auto_Duck

Thanks Steve,
I think I'll go with the semi-geek method. A few practice rounds first though.

John

P.S.
My first project using 1.3.12 turned out really well.
