Recording - No devices found

Post by JoeGuitar » Thu Apr 29, 2010 1:11 am

I just installed Audacity 1.3.12-beta. I'm running Windows Vista SP1

I want to record from the windows mixer but when I go to the Audacity Preferences/Devices Recording shows No devices found.

What do I need to do to be able to record from the mixer?

Thanks for your time.

Sometimes the newer Windows hide the settings. Sometimes they're missing.

Thanks Koz,

I went into control panel/sound/recording tab & enabled Stereo Mix. Tried it and it still didn't find it.

So I went into the properties of Stereo Mix and on the Advanced tab I unchecked the two properties that were set for the Exclusive Mode. Went back in and I could see some input devices. Tried to record something & it worked fine.

Now, I need to find out why I can't change the playback speed - tried using the playback speed slider & it didn't change anythin......
