only left input recieving signal when recording

As the title says only my left input recieves signal but both outputs work when listening back. The recording is broken and distorted, is this because its trying to find both inputs when recording?

What you can try:
on the left of the audio track, there is a gain an ptich slider. Try moving the pitch slider (the bottom one) to the middle.
Also, did you make sure that both microphone cables were connected when recording?

Are you trying to record using the Mic-In of your laptop by any chance?
