Audacity Forum

Hi!! I downloaded 1.2.6.. Now, does this download have everything in it or do i have to download something else? I see the optional things, but i am computer DUH! I read something about some library download that has to go with 1.2.6 to make it work. Is this true? I don't know...... I use windows XP. I thought that this was going to be simple. Please help thanks. Dennis

The only other thing you are likely to need is the LAME software - you can get it from here: http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=inst ... m=lame-mp3

You only need it if you want to export compressed MP3 files (normally for use in a portable music player. Audacity cannot bundle this in due to licensing restrictions (a fee would have to be paide to Steinberg the license owner) - you can download it for free though.
