audacity will not open if soundsoap 2.1.1 is installed

I've had audacity (current version) installed on my PC and last week I purchased SoundSoap 2.1.1

I used SSoap as a standalone and it worked great.

I then closed SSoap and tried to open Audacity and I got the error msg box that something wasn't right and would I like to send the information to Microsoft.

I tried reinstalling audacity -- no luck.

So I uninstalled SSoap -- and audacity ran fine.

I contact bias-inc.com (makers of SSoap) and they say they've never heard of the problem.

So the question is -- can I have SSoap2.1.1 installed on my PC and get audacity to open and run?

Any ideas?

As an experiment I just downloaded and installed the BETA version of Audacity and it DID open, does that give any clues to help with the 1.2.x version?
