I just downloaded audacity 1.2.6 from cnet a few days ago and i am having a lot of trouble. First, importing songs. I have itunes version 9.1. I import the song i want from my itunes folder on my computer like it says to on the tutorial web pages, but when i look at it, the "song" is only like .102 seconds long. When I push play it sounds like "phthtthch" for .102 seconds and thats it. I've tried a few things but none of them work.
So there's that and i also am having a problem with audacity closing. I'll be editing my audio as normal when a message comes up that says "audacity.exe has stopped working". Of the two options it gives, they both end up with audacity closing. I have windows 7 by the way. So if anyone can help me with either of those problems, please do. Thanks

The recommended version of Audacity for Windows 7 is Audacity 1.3.12 (Audacity 1.2.6 is known to have a lot of problems on Windows 7).

It is probably an unsupported file format.

Audacity 1.3.12 may be able to import the file correctly if you also install "ffmpeg". (See here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/index.ph ... tallffmpeg )

If you are still unable to import the file correctly you will need to convert it into a supported file format (such as WAV).
