Re: no line in option on mixer toolbar
I have EXACTLY the same problem using BOTH versions 1.2.6 and the Beta. I'm using XP Pro and SP3. Could it be that my tape player is not activating this option in Audacity?
Re: no line in option on mixer toolbar
Audacity 1.2.x
"Edit menu > Preferences > Audio I/O"
Audacity 1.3.x
"Edit menu > Preferences > Devices"
Check that you have the correct device selected for both the recording device and the playback device.

Re: no line in option on mixer toolbar
I selected the I/O Preferences as required, on both v. 1.2.6 and v. 1.3.12. No luck. Nothing shows up in the little box. Please read my previous post. Thanks.

This is confusing with two people asking in the same forum thread and really confusing when there's three people asking.
Which version of Audacity are you currently using? (1.3.12 recommended).
Did MAGIX Audio Cleaning Lab 2004 work? What settings did you use in that?
What do you have set as the recording input in the Windows "Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices"?
What exactly were the available options, and which have you got selected?domeno wrote:I selected the I/O Preferences as required, on both v. 1.2.6 and v. 1.3.12.

Re: no line in option on mixer toolbar
Thanks for the suggestion. When I tried the input on MAGIX, I got an error message. Evidently the problem is with the modem, or somewhere else on my computer. Funny thing is, several years ago I used the line input on MAGIX many times, and it worked perfectly. I'll have my local computer guru take a look.
