Mono only problem

It's been so long since I've really used Audacity 1.2.6 that I can't actually remember if it has such quirks. I think that all of the long-term Audacity users on this forum now use Audacity 1.3 for all of their production work. On Audacity 1.3.12 (the current version), mono files will be imported as mono track and stereo files imported as stereo track. If the project contains any stereo material, the exported file will be stereo. Here on the forum we recommend Audacity 1.3.12 to everyone because it solves a lot of oddball problems.

If you want to try Audacity 1.3.12, you do not need to uninstall the old 1.2.6 version. They can live happily side by side. The two limitations are that you can not run both versions simultaneously, and Audacity 1.2.6 cannot open projects that have been saved by Audacity 1.3.x
