Hi all, Im new to al this and really havent a clue what Im doing!! I have archived all my cassettes to iTunes however the sound on some recordings is awful and sems to be the left speaker/earphone when in playback is bad quality. All I want to do is make the recording a lot louder. Ive read the tutorials and am lost!! Could someone explain from the first step,ie exporting a recording into audacity etc of how to make my recordings louder?? Sorry for any hassle and thanks in advance.
Birchy.

I think nobody's touched this question because it's a little foggy. You captured some cassette tape performances and imported the music into iTunes and then didn't like the way they sounded? Did I get that? Did they sound OK before you imported into iTunes?

Sorry for being a bit vague on this. Some of the tapes were poor quality and are obviously hard to hear on an ipod. I think a boost in volume should help??

Assuming you have them in the MP3 format, this should be really simple. Find the file on your hard disk, open it with Audacity, select the whole track and let the Amplify plugin do its thing. The default number Amplify provides should be a safe max.
