Exporting multiple tracks

Post by markalpan » Thu Apr 01, 2010 1:25 pm

I am using Audacity to transfer some of my record collection to my computer. I have followed the directions properly I believe but am still having trouble. Here is what I have done:

First, I recorded the album using audacity.
Second, I placed track markers, and labeled them, between each track.
Third, I clicked on export multiple. I have tried this in both WAV and MP3 formats. When I do this step, it will either only export one track or other times it has exported the whole album as one track.
I have tried saving it to different locations too but that does nothing.

Could someone please let me know what I may be doing wrong?
Thank you so much!

How many labels do you have in the label track?
You are putting all of the labels in the same label track?
Does each label have a unique name?
What settings do you have in the Export Multiple dialogue?

Are you using non alpha-numeric characters in the file-naem - 1.2.x is unforgiving about this (nor does it give yopu a sensible error message).

I did have some special symbols in some of the track names. I got rid of those and it worked. Although one of the tracks has a few skips in it after export that weren't in the original recording. Can I highlight that one track and try to export that one again somehow? Or will it do the same thing?

Play through that track in Audacity and check that it plays OK.
If there's no problem with it you can select just that section and use "Export Selection"
