Seperating tracks while transferring from source to PC

Is there a manual (simple) way to create track split points while transferring music from a source (tape or vinal disc)? When I wait till I'm finished transferring, and use "Analyze/Silence Finder", it often doesn't find silence or puts the flag into the wrong point. I'd like to "click" on something to do this while the transfer is in progress.
Thanks for any help......

I do it while I am recording my LPs by placing a label at the required point.
You can either click CTRL+M to place a label at the curretnt recording/playing position - but I prefer to place my cursor at the required position and then type CTRL+B to place a label there.
I usually place them 0.5 seconds before the start of the next track - listen for the end of the previous track amd then wait for the next track to start, thenyou can place your cursor and create the label.
You can always make small adjustments later by sliding the label up and down the timeline.

BTW label handling is much better in 1.3.x - you should consider moving to 1.3. Despite the fact that it is Beta - it is a pretty mature Beta and is in fact more stable than the officially "stable" 1.2.6 on many modern computing platforms.
You can get 1.3 from here:
