second recording keeps gettin interupted

New to recording here. I just dowloaded the beta version of audacity yesterday.
The very first time I recorded yesterday everything was good. I recorded two guitar parts and then some vocals. Now all of a sudden I keep getting two pop up boxes when I try to record more than one thing. Here's what they say.

First pop up box:

An unhandled exception occured. Press abort to terminate the program, "Retry" to exit the program normally and "Ignore" to try to continue.

Second box, then pops up and says:

Audacity, the free cross-platform sound editor has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly, Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

Does anyone know what this means and a way to fix it?

What is your operating system?
What audio device are you using?
Is it PCI, USB, FireWire......?
Any other information that may help to identify the problem?

I use a Dell xps 410 with vista home premium, and Sigma Tel Hi Def sound card.
Also, I downloaded the beta version of audacity. Could that be the problem?

I'm running a, guitar > zoom ps-02 palm top studio > mic input on pc.
I have tried plugging the zoom ps-02 into the line input on the pc and still get the same bad results.

My first recording is always fine. I only get the interuption issues about 5 seconds after I am recording my second track.

I searched the internet for some answers and this is what I found out:

Someone suggested that after they uninstaled the beta version of audacity and installed the 1.2.6 version their problems went away. They were also a vista user.
Hopefully this continues to work and might help someone else with similar problems.

Glad you've got it working Ironhead.
As you point out, 1.3.4 is a beta version, (and the same could possibly be said for Vista ).
1.3.4 works without problems for many people (including myself), but anyone that has stability problems with it should use the stable release (1.2.6).
