In CDex, click on Options > Settings > Filenames.
This gives you a window where you can select the format of the filenames, and where you want them saved.

In the "Filename Format" box, you type a code which tells CDex what to call each file as it rips it. (Click on the Help button for details)
In the "Recorded Tracks" dropdown, you tell CDex where you want the ripped tracks saved.

is it good protocol to thank your helper, or is that just a distracting time waster for you guys?

It's just the spammers we hate here (and we work hard to keep them off!) - not those who are polite enough to say thank you.

We appreciate the feedback that lets us know the advice has worked - and this may help other readers of the forum in the future.
