Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

multiple export

Post by nunosans » Tue Mar 09, 2010 10:12 pm

I have recorded an album with 18 tracks. I have labelled them and exported as WAV. 16 export OK but other 2 only have a few KB and when moved to itunes have no play time. Further the export records 20 tracks one of which plays one of the missing songs and the other repeats a song that i had labelled before and edited out. One other thing is that when I generate silence on some occasions it fails but compresses the track and won't undo. Any help would be much appreciated.
I am using 1.2.6 and XP.

I know this sounds like a generic Get Out Of Jail card, but you should try Audacity 1.3.11 or 1.3.12 if it's out. The updates corrected hundreds of export and file management problems. The "Stable" and "Unstable" business is wildly inaccurate now. There are modern computers you can buy that don't run Audacity 1.2 at all.

You can safely install both 1.2 and 1.3, but you can only use one at a time. Audacity 1.3 projects will not open in 1.2.

Thanks I have downloaded 1.3 and gained some info. I used the existing file and got same type of problem but I also got some info about the files. One of them was a duplicate recording which I had previously edited out. I changed the labels. Now trying to delete but no luck yet. Suppose I need to start a new recording?
