Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

Export as WAV

G'day Guys,

I hope that I am in the correct forum

I am using Windows XP Home and Audacity 1.2.6

I am trying to record from a tape to Audacity and although I can see the recording operation working, when I come to saving the exercise by using File and "Export as WAV" I get the message that the Folder could not be found.

Go easy on me guys as I am a recycled teenager who has a little trouble grasping IT, so any assistance will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks
Wal

Make sure that you just use normal characters (alpha-numeric, space, underscore and hyphen) in the file name. My guess is that the file name includes a slash "/" and Windows is reading that as a path name delimiter.
If you thave C:/My Documents/Music/my/file.wav where "my/file.wav" is supposed to be the file name, widows will read it as "file.wav" in a folder called "my".
Change the file name so that it uses only "normal" characters and see if it works.
